Sunday Service at The GO!

Long time no post. I'm coming today with a short outfit post. I recently returned from a work-cation and I had a chance to visit my new "home" church; The Gathering Oasis. Cornelius Lindsey is the pastor and his church is located here in Atlanta. I was excited to go to church because I haven't been in a loooooong while... mostly due to work, but not excuses. I was even more excited to learn that my mom and sisters were joining me for service this morning.

I had a chance to throw together a quick little outfit. Take a look below and let me know what you think:

Top: Ross | Pants: Forever21 | Shoes: UrbanOG | Clutch: Birthday Gift

With my Cutie Patootie niece, Atira.

With my sister-in-Christ, Brittany; Founder of High Heels High Standards (Blog, Facebook, Instagram)

Hope you enjoyed! Expect more outfit posts in the near future :)

Always,
My'Til

25 Looks Good on YOU!

Over the past weekend, I was blessed to be able to celebrate 25 years of life. During the entire week leading up to my birthday, I wasn't really feeling it. The plans kept changing and I couldn't think of anything that I wanted to do. It was to the point where I had just completely given up. My favorite co-workers bought me a cupcake cake, it was sooooooo delicious!

The day of my birthday (October 3rd), I went to the movies with my mom, sisters and niece after work. We saw the sequel to the movie about the dolphin that lost its tail, I forget the name (with Morgan Freeman).

Then my best friend texted me asking if I wanted to go to dinner Saturday night. Even though it sounded cliche, I agreed. Now I just had to find a restaurant. It was either between Mexican or Italian. I wanted to go with a place where I could enjoy the company of my family and friends. I decided to go to a restaurant in the Midtown Atlanta area, called Tin Lizzy's. I had never been but I always heard good things about the place. The meeting time for dinner was 8:00 pm but it quickly turned into close to 9:00 pm (I have to work on being on time.) We arrived and waited for about 15 minutes before we were seated.

I didn't get any pictures of my food but it was amazing. I ordered a mango margarita but I didn't take more than 3 sips (I'm not much of a drinker due to my freshman year of college, I drank enough then for the rest of my life) before my best friend finished it.

All in all, I really enjoyed my 25th birthday! I'm really blessed to have people in my life who love me. This birthday will be one to remember for the rest of my life.

Here's a re-cap of my birthday weekend:

Feeling OVERWHELMED and OVERJOYED!

Hi everyone!! I know it's late, but I have some GREAT news to share. I'll get right into it.

If you know me, you know the obsession I have for all things FASHION related. My dream career is to be a Wardrobe Stylist & Fashion Editor for a magazine. So, since the beginning of this year, I've been applying to different places here in Atlanta for employment and/or internships in the fashion industry. I was unsuccessful in that search until the middle of the summer. I've been on numerous interviews which resulted in me almost giving up because I wasn't getting any call backs. When in reality, those internships just weren't meant for me. I've been praying faithfully that God will bless me with something that I wanted to do in my field of study. Upon waiting for my moment, I had to learn to be patient and persevere through every obstacle.

Early last week, to my surprise, I heard back from an Editor, Tiffini. I don't even remember when I sent her an email about obtaining an internship with her magazine, Tastemaker Magazine. Needless to say I was literally ecstatic when she asked me to send over my resume. I sent it the same day, not even expecting her to respond. A few days had passed and I still didn't hear from her, so I took it upon myself to check on the status on my resume. In the email, I explained to her that I'm willing to learn anything even though I didn't have any experience. A few hours later, she responded and arranged for a time that we could speak. The next day we spoke for a few minutes on the phone and we arranged a more formal meeting.

On Saturday, we met at a Chick-fil-A. I was definitely nervous the entire ride to the meeting. I didn't know what to expect, but I mainly just hoped she liked me. No lie, the ENTIRE meeting I was in complete awe. I could not believe what was taking place right in front of my eyes. I was speechless and overjoyed the entire time!! I was soooooo excited for this to finally be taking place..me following my dreams, I mean. Tiffini was a wealth of information and I feel like we connected. Almost all of the things she spoke about was what I've been longing to do, I just needed the opportunity.

I admit that I never gave up. I searched for internships every chance I got and it finally paid off. Although I'm still in the process of finding (needing) a job, I can't even begin to explain the thankfulness I feel for finally getting an internship. I start on Monday as the Social Media Intern for Tastemaker Magazine. Prayer works and patience changes things. I learned that I should NEVER give up on my dreams, no matter how hard they seem like they are. You have to be your biggest supporter. Also, pray for what you want, ask God to lead you in the right direction and trust Him. He'll let everything unfold when it's the right time. Never give up!

Until next time, have a blessed day!

Be sure to follow Tastemaker: Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook

P.S. Thank you soooooo much, Tiffini, for this opportunity! You don't know how much it means to me to be a part of something bigger than myself. I really and truly appreciate it!
